Alumerie Bécancour – Plant upgrades
DCM won several contracts at the Aluminerie de Bécancour Inc. (ABI). One particular contract consisted in replacing the Line 3 potroom control panels. This was our third contract of this nature at ABI. Since 2007, we have been awarded every control panels’ contract for the 3 lines, which each comprise 240 cells. These panels are located in a controlled environment and many specifications had to be followed. Fibre materials had to be used, as no other material was accepted to prevent static electricity. ABI also awarded us the contract to change the PLC mounting plates.
