An eye to the future

By Lindsay  Woodcox, Regional Manager – Atlantic Canada

Over the past four years, the Atlantic division of DAWCO has completed a wide range of projects in the commercial-institutional-light industrial markets, including an abattoir, a prison expansion, a data center, an instrumentation job at an LNG terminal, and a naval shipyard expansion.
We are currently working on a new school construction, a sports complex, generator replacements at two hospitals and a prison, as well as an electrical service upgrade of office space for the New Brunswick provincial government.
Flexibility and adaptability are key to the success of the Atlantic division of DAWCO. With a focus on project-specific requirements, DAWCO can ensure that it has the right team and strategy in place for a project to be completed seamlessly. DAWCO has acted as electrical subcontractor on some projects and as general contractor on other jobs that were primarily electrical in nature, which provides a competitive advantage over traditional general contractors who subcontract the vast majority of work.
DAWCO has participated in a number of design-build proposals which has helped develop partnerships early in the process when there are far fewer participants, and its innovative ideas provide an advantage based on cost and value added alternatives.
In October, DAWCO moved its New Brunswick office from Fredericton to Oromocto. This new location offers customized office space in a warehouse, and allows us to keep everything under one roof.
DAWCO has been working closely with unions, suppliers, manufacturers, general contractors, and engineers to win back market share from non-unionized competitors.
DAWCO is building a reputation for being a solid professional market leader in Atlantic Canada, just as it is recognized nationally.
